9000 E. Chaparral Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85252 Library Quad
This feature was designed and installed for the main purpose of being a large endangered fish refugia. Three ponds connect through a series of short streams, providing habitat for the endangered fish and amphibious life. Installed 04/11.
12000 N. 90th St. Scottsdale, AZ 85260
This entry feature replaced a retention basin with our HOA-approved rainwater harvesting system. The water storage is underground! A constructed wetland filter pours into a 15’x18’ pond, which in turn “disappears” into the rocks at the bottom, making this a super low-maintenance debris removal system. Installed 06/11. 2529 N. Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 480-946-3481
This is a cute little 10’x15’ pond with about 10’ of stream. This 65-year-old nursery hosts a coffee bar, as well as an antique, art & furniture store. If you’ve never seen it – it’s definitely worth the visit! Installed 2004.
1830 E. McKellips Rd. Mesa, AZ 480-964-4909
A waterfall spills into a split wide stream and feeds a 15’x15’ pond, greeting each and every patron upon arrival. Fabulous nursery, antiques, garden furniture, and art. Need we say more? Installed 2006.
19644 N. 111th Ave. Sun City, AZ 85373 623-566-2248 The West side’s newest nursery and antique store! A 12’x20’ pond with waterfall and a “pondless” stream grace the interior of this expansive nursery. Installed 2009. 455 N. Galvin Parkway Phoenix, AZ The features are just inside the front gate, after you have paid admission. Once inside the entrance, look to your left to see a lovely pondless waterfall constructed of Jesse Red Boulders. To the right is a large Koi pond fed by a dual-stream system and successfully filtered by a constructed wetland. Thousands of children and adults are mesmerized daily by the flowing water and dancing Koi. This has become a very popular exhibit. The fish are chased by herons and fed “treats” daily. Those are some wily fish! Installed 2006.
15555 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd.
Red Mountain Campus 2305 N. Power Rd. Mesa, AZ This stream is a rainwater harvesting/storm water control project, as well as a native Arizona riparian habitat. This stream is maturing nicely! Installed 04/10.
4455 E. Lincoln Dr. Paradise Valley, AZ This re-circulating stream graces the church's Biblical Garden out front. This welcoming property is always happy to see visitors. Installed 2009.
4341 E. Broadway Rd. Phoenix, AZ The entrance to this building displays a lovely 10-year-old 11’x16’ pond with a double-drop waterfall, which was built in one day by a Build-A-Pond class. This pond shows off some terrific boulder work. Installed 2001.
22767 N. 104th Ln. Peoria, AZ
This little wildlife refuge is home to a myriad of families, including native and migratory birds. The front yard feature is actually an HOA-approved rainwater harvesting system! But it's a perfect example of a re-circulating stream. The origination point is a pond fed by an updraft system to create a reflecting pool, complete with lilies and fish. It’s a real show-stopper in the neighborhood, and enjoyed by children and parents alike! Installed 2009.
